What an absolutely incredible day! 🤩
Words truly fall short when trying to capture the energy and excitement I experienced at AWS Community Day Portugal 2025 this past Saturday. Despite the storm warnings that could have kept people away, the community showed up in full force, and for that, I’m deeply grateful. Your presence is what makes this community truly special.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible organizing team: Tiago Rodrigues, Diego Marques, Francisco Edilton, and Fabricio Monteiro. Facing unexpected challenges, they demonstrated remarkable resilience and delivered what I can confidently say was an outstanding AWS Community Day (though I might be slightly partial 😜). And let’s not forget the dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes—this event simply wouldn’t have been possible without your commitment!
The speakers truly brought their A-game, and I found myself wishing I had the ability to be in multiple places at once to catch every single session.
The Portuguese track kicked off with an inspiring talk by Suzana Melo titled “From Procrastination to Publishing: How AWS Amplify Helped Me Finally Start Blogging.” Her presentation beautifully illustrated that regardless of your background, there are no barriers to getting started with AWS and bringing your ideas to life through blogging, and also inspired me to some changes around here too 😉
I had the honor of presenting next, and I’m so grateful to everyone who joined me for “The Lambda Scrolls: A Serverless Adventure in the Land of AWSia”—my ongoing AWS-themed tabletop RPG adventure. Thank you to all my beta players! There’s more content coming on this project, so keep an eye out for updates! 🐉 ☺️

Over on the English track, I managed to catch Michał Brygidyn’s excellent session “AWS Audit - What to Look For and Where to Find It.” As always, he delivered valuable security insights for AWS account configuration that are essential for any cloud practitioner. 🕵️
Wrapping up the Portuguese track, Gustavo Gama presented “The Symbiotic Relationship: Meshing Events and Data for Real-Time Insights” diving deep into the critical importance of creating synergy between event-driven architectures and data processing. 📈
These were just a few highlights from a day packed with incredible content. A massive thank you to every speaker who shared their knowledge and passion with us!
I’m already counting down to next year’s event—I have a feeling it’s going to be even bigger and better! Here’s to continuing to build, learn, and grow together as a community!
And if you happen to miss this year event, here’s a peek of what happened too (and expect more next year):
